Considering bringing in your pet for the first time? Wondering what we do for your furry family member while they're with us for the day? Here is a detailed list of services we offer:

Nail Clipping: Most dogs and cats need their nails clipped every 3 to 6 weeks, depending on your pet's lifestyle. If you start to hear your pet's nails clicking on the floor, your pet is due for a trim. Clipping prevents nail breakage that could cause infection and prevents improper posture that could lead to problems down the road. Younger dogs should also be brought in as soon as possible to start getting them used to the process.

Pads Trimming: Trimming the hair underneath your pets feet is a great way to keep your animal's feet clean and free from debris. Pad trimming is especially important in the winter so that snow and ice does not form painful snowballs in between the pads. This is generally done each time your pet comes in to be groomed. It is also a great way to avoid uncomfortable matts between the toes.

Ears Cleaning and Hair Removal: Along with regular grooming and bathing, keeping your dog's ears clean is key to avoiding painful and odorous ear infections. Checking your dog's ears at least once a week will ensure that they are kept healthy and that any infections that develop are quickly detected.

Anal Glands: Most dogs and cats empty these glands on their own whenever they have a bowel movement or during exercise. However, several dogs and cats have problems with impacted anal glands from glands failing to empty. When your pet begins "scooting", you should bring your pet in to have the glands manually expressed. If anal glands are not expressed as needed, an animal can face extreme discomfort and possible health issues.

Bathing: The salon recently purchased three new hydro surging units. A pressurized shampoo dillution is sprayed through the entire coat, breaking up the bond between fur and grime. The final result is a cleaner coat and a deep cleansing of the pet's skin. The spray pattern provides a massaging effect, making the bathing session a calming and a soothing experience. For more information on the products we use, please visit the products page. Note: There is no extra charge for use of medicated shampoos if they are needed.

Drying: Pets are dried by hand using high velocity dryers to blow the water from the coat leaving it straight and fluffy.

Toothbrushing: This is the salon's newest service. Regular toothbrushing prevents tartar build up, staining of the teeth and bad breath. We also sell toothbrushing products for owners to use at home.

Skunked Dog Remedies: The worst thing you can do after your pet gets sprayed is bathe it with shampoo and water. Rather than washing the scent out, water actually locks that horrible smell into your pets coat. We have a special peroxide treatment that will leave your pet smelling fresh again.

Flea and Tick Remedies: Fleas can be carriers for worms and diseases, so keeping your pet flea-free helps to keep it healthy. Many pets and people are allergic to flea bites. If you notice your pet had irratated skin, is scratching constantly, or has dried blood "dust" in its fur, your pet may have fleas. We have several different shampoos and treatments to rid your pet of these pesky critters.

Scissor Finishing: Scissor Finishing is the "art of grooming". It takes time and a skilled hand. It allows for a velvet-looking and cleaner finish. It gives the groomer more versatility for lengths whereas a clipper only allows for so many.

Handstripping: Handstripping is when dead/excess hair is removed by hand, using finger and thumb in a plucking motion by using fingers or a stripping knife. Don’t panic – it sounds worse than it is! The knife is not used to cut but only to pull the hair out. When it’s ready, that dead coat is easily removed. Hand stripping leaves a natural finish, hence the wiry look and will prevent excessive shedding and matting.

Hygeine Trim: The hygeine trim cleans up your pet's ears, tummy, beard and around the anus. This gets rid of all the dirt and excess hair to leave your pet feeling fresh and looking clean.

Our service charges are based on size, dematting and behaviour during the grooming session. Please call or email the salon for accurate quotes.
