About

Dawn Mullin

Dawn Mullin has been grooming for over 10 years, receiving her basic diploma through Pets Beautiful in Toronto in 1995. She then worked in a doggie day care as a groomer while also working as a teachers assistant for Canada’s largest grooming school. When she left Toronto, she moved to Ottawa for a teaching job (for Ottawa’s largest grooming school) and proceeded to achieve her Certified Master Groomer status through International Professional Groomer (I.P.G.) in 2003. During the couple of years that she had spent working for the school, she had come to recognize that Ottawa was lacking a quality salon that could offer stylized breed clipping with a nice atmosphere and pleasant customer service. This was being done in hair salons, but not yet in the pet industry. And so in 2003 Dawn of a New Day was born.

In 2005 Dawn created Dawn of a New Day – Academy of Animal Aesthetics. She has created an all round, hands on course for people looking to begin their new careers in pet styling.

In 2007 Dawn began her competition career taking three awards in the terrier class including Best in Class. She continues to compete and we wish her luck with her new challenge.
